My earliest singing-related memory was at the age of 5, when I sang a solo in my school Christmas play and my love of singing and performing continued and grew from this point. I attended a Saturday music school from a very young age but started formal singing lessons aged 14 at secondary school. I passed my Grade 8 singing exam with distinction at 18 which helped me to get in to study music at Southampton University.
During my four years at Southampton I had amazing opportunities every week to rehearse and perform in the Turner Sims Concert Hall, both as a solo classical singer and as part of a 4-piece singing group. I continued with my singing lessons and was taught by a classical singing expert and a musical theatre professional. I joined the Southampton University Chamber Choir in my first year of university, going on to become the president of the society. I have always felt a huge rush from singing with others in harmony and this is something I love about singing with Bethan. There is nothing better than when a harmony comes together!
